Adelita

Today, start working on Adelita again. Even though I played it and recorded it a long time ago, there is a right way and a wrong way. I am trying to learn the right way this time. I know I should visualize how each passage will be played, work out first the fingerings for the left and right hand etc etc. I love Tarrega's music.

I will record each practice session to track the progress.

The Odd Folks of Okracoke

My recording from many years ago:

Lagrima

My recording from a few years ago:

I don't know if it's necessary, but in the 3rd measure of the B section she could try holding the high notes down while she plays the low notes that come next. That's how I learned it anyway and it makes me picture tears cascading down. That was my first introduction to big stretches and it really opened my eyes! (Not unlike the kind of revelations torture victims experience on the rack).
